Affordable and delicious

Put a little stock powder on the noodle soup, a spoonful of soy sauce, a spoonful of oyster sauce, and a little bit of sesame oil! That's amazing! I didn't get tired after eating for three days!

I've been craving this for years, and now I've finally found it. I really like the taste. If I wasn't afraid of it expiring, I would buy a few more packs to stock up.

Simple shouxi pot, 10 minutes to complete. Add a little bonito stock powder, a little oyster sauce, and a little steamed fish soy sauce, which is delicious.

not bad. Feels healthier than chicken essence

The date is very good. Every time I cook the soup, I use a little bit to improve the freshness.

This is really easy to use, the seafood soup is super fresh! Like 👍

It's very small, it smells like fish sauce

I had been using this bonito stock for a few years and it did not dissappoint me. It taste good and adds umami in my dishes better than the liquid form.
You gotta have this to make Japanese style miso soup 🍲
Hondshi has been around for like 50 years. It is a great way to make the dashi soup stock. Really great for tamagoyaki.
We answer everything you want to know about Hondashi.
Hondashi is a popular instant dashi powder made by Ajinomoto. It is primarily composed of salt, monosodium glutamate (MSG), sugar, and dried bonito tuna (katsuobushi) extract. It provides a quick and convenient way to create a rich, umami-filled Japanese soup stock without the long simmering process.
While Hondashi contains MSG as a flavor enhancer to mimic the natural glutamic acid found in kombu, it is not pure MSG. It is a balanced seasoning blend that includes dried bonito powder and other ingredients to provide a complex, smoky, and savory fish-based flavor profile.
Dashi is the general term for Japanese soup stock, which can be made from scratch using kombu and bonito flakes. Hondashi is a specific brand of instant dashi granules. Using Hondashi is much faster and more consistent for daily cooking compared to making traditional dashi from raw ingredients.
Hondashi is incredibly versatile. It is the essential base for miso soup, but it can also be used to season stir-fries, ramen broths, tempura dipping sauces, and even fried rice. Simply dissolve the powder in hot water or sprinkle it directly into your dishes to add an instant umami boost.
If you run out of Hondashi, you can use other dashi-based products like Mentsuyu (noodle soup base) or Shiro-Dashi. For a vegetarian alternative, kombu dashi powder or dried shiitake mushroom stock can be used. You can find all these authentic Japanese substitutes right here on Yami.
