Chinese New Year, also called the Spring Festival or Lunar New Year, is perhaps the most significant holiday on the Chinese calendar. Marking the beginning of Spring and the new year, the holiday is celebrated around Asia and the world with feasts, festivals, gifts, gatherings, and of course a slew of delicious dishes and sweets.
Nian Gao is a staple of Chinese New Years' celebrations. Fittingly known as New Year's Cake, it's a deliciously simple creation made from a soft, chewy paste of cooked glutinous rice. This classic Chinese New Year's Cake from LIUFU is flavored with sweet red beans.
