The mushroom contains protein-bound and unique polysaccharides (PSP- polysaccharide peptide; PSK — polysaccharide-K, Krestin). These polysaccharides boost the immune system.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, Coriolus is used to heal pulmonary disorders, strengthen the physique, increase energy and benefit people with chronic diseases. TCM doctors consider it a useful treatment for infection and/or inflammation of the upper respiratory, urinary and digestive tracts. Coriolus is also regarded as curative to liver ailments and is used to treat general weakness of the immune system
Actions & Uses
PSP, the abbreviation of “PolySaccharoPeptide” can only be extracted from the Coriolusversicolor mushroom. Over the past 20 years, extensive research including clinical trials has been conducted on identifying the active ingredient groups of PSP and elucidating its immune health benefits in the body.
Coriolus possesses immune supporting benefits and enhances our immune surveillance in weak immune systems. Studies have shown that PSP boosts the activity of natural killer cells, simulates the production of interleukin-2 and increases the ratio of helper T cells.
