Old Bush Honey Orchid is one of the most celebrated aroma types among Phoenix Dancong oolong teas. It is crafted from tea leaves harvested from old tea trees that are over 50 years of age. Having grown deep into the rocky mountain soil for decades, these mature trees develop a richer concentration of natural compounds, producing a tea with greater depth, complexity, and a remarkably smooth, full-bodied character. In the Phoenix tea-growing region, tea trees between approximately 50 and 100 years old are traditionally referred to as "Old Bush" (Lao Cong).
The signature characteristic of Honey Orchid Dancong is its captivating combination of natural honey sweetness and elegant orchid fragrance. As the tea infuses, it releases a distinctive aroma reminiscent of freshly steamed sweet potatoes, beautifully layered with delicate floral notes. This unique profile—known in China as "Rich Honey & Elegant Orchid"—creates a lingering, multi-dimensional fragrance that unfolds with every infusion.
The liquor is bright golden-orange, crystal clear, and exceptionally smooth on the palate. Its flavor is rich, mellow, and naturally sweet, balancing the depth of old bush tea with the freshness of Honey Orchid Dancong. Each sip delivers a pleasant sweetness, followed by a long-lasting, refreshing finish that leaves the mouth feeling clean and lingering with floral notes.
Premium Old Bush Honey Orchid Dancong is prized for its exceptional endurance through multiple infusions, maintaining its sweetness and aroma even after ten or more brews. The infused leaves are soft, vibrant, and display the classic "green leaves with red edges" appearance, a hallmark of traditional Phoenix Dancong craftsmanship and outstanding tea quality.
