Otona no Amasa - literally "grown-up sweetness" - is the KitKat for people who find the standard bar too sweet. Cocoa powder is kneaded into the wafer for a deeper, slightly bitter cacao note, and the chocolate coating is dialled back so the cocoa comes forward. Crisp wafer, restrained sweetness.
Each piece is individually wrapped in the paper-based packaging Nestlé Japan introduced to reduce plastic - the wrapper can be folded into a small origami crane.
