This 2013 Kunshan Pianyu Qian Liang Tea Cake is cut directly from a full-length Qian Liang tea log produced in 2013, which was originally foot-pressed and sun-dried. The tea remained in its complete log form and was aged for 11 years in Baishaxi’s standardized storage facility before being sliced into cakes. Larger tea bodies contain more compounds for long-term transformation, resulting in deeper and more complex aging—similar to how fine spirits and wines are aged in large vessels before bottling. The dry leaves appear dark brownish-green with a slight reddish sheen, offering a clean aroma that balances aged notes with gentle sweetness.
The raw material is carefully selected from old-tree Yun Tai large-leaf varietals grown in the Xuefeng Mountain range of Anhua. Made from premium “hua bai geng” grade leaves, the tea is tightly compressed with no burnt core or honeycomb structure, reflecting skilled craftsmanship and consistent quality throughout. After 11 years of natural aging, the infused leaves and cup release rich aromas of camphor, dried tofu, and floral honey. The lingering cup fragrance is sweet, dense, and long-lasting, showcasing the depth of well-aged dark tea.
The liquor delivers layered notes of soy milk, glutinous rice, and honey sweetness, with a smooth, mellow body and a long-lasting sweet aftertaste. This tea captures the unique charm of whole-log Qian Liang tea aging—rich yet harmonious, complex yet balanced. It offers evolving layers of flavor that invite repeated appreciation. Approximate cake size: 18 cm × 18 cm × 1.7 cm.
