Taste: Smooth, mellow, thick, sweet, soft, cooling finish, long-lasting
Crafted from hand-picked one-bud-two-leaf spring material harvested during the 2016 Grain Rain season, this tea was first processed into dark maocha and then aged naturally in Baishaxi’s traditional warehouse. Following ancient techniques—including seven-star stove baking, hand-pressing, and natural golden-flower cultivation—the tea was refined into bricks in 2021 and cut into convenient pieces in 2025.
With ten years of careful aging, the tea has developed a deep, mature character. The dry leaves appear dark, glossy, and tender, with moderate stems intentionally blended to support golden flower growth, moisture balance, and long-term aging. These stems also contribute beneficial tea polysaccharides and fiber.
Breaking open the tea reveals abundant golden flowers (Eurotium cristatum), a hallmark of high-quality Fu tea. These golden blooms release a lively fungal-flower aroma and are traditionally valued for their wellness benefits.
The brewed liquor glows amber, thick and silky in texture. The taste is smooth and mellow, with no bitterness or astringency. Gentle sweetness emerges immediately, followed by notes of honey, jujube, and aged warmth. The finish is long, soft, and slightly cooling, with a lingering rock-sugar sweetness. When simmered or thermos-steeped, deeper jujube and caramelized sweetness develops.

🫖 Brewing Methods
Easy Mug Brew
Use a 1:100 ratio (1g tea/ 100 ml water). Place tea in a mug and add 100°C (212°F) water. Steep for 5–7 minutes. Refill when one-third remains. Use boiling water to fully awaken the aged notes.
Traditional Gongfu Style
Pre-warm a gaiwan or Yixing teapot. Use a 1:20 ratio with 100°C (212°F) water. Steep for 10 seconds for the first two infusions, gradually increasing time. This highlights the evolving layers of fruit and grain.
Thermal Steeping
Use a 1:200 ratio. Pour boiling water into a ceramic-lined flask or teapot. Close the lid and steep for 1–2 hours. This slow extraction coaxes out the maximum sweetness and medicinal benefits.
Boiling Brewing
Use a 1:100 ratio. Add tea to water once it reaches an initial boil. Cook for 10–15 minutes to extract a deep, robust flavor. Strain the liquor for serving, leaving 1/3 of the tea in the pot to be refilled with hot water; this method can be repeated twice.
