Everyday Ways to Use
1. Simple Chenpi Tea
Take one small piece (about 1–2g), rinse briefly with warm water, then steep in hot water for 5–10 minutes. Refill the cup several times; the liquor stays fragrant and lightly sweet.
2. Simmered Peel Water
Add a piece of peel to a small pot with cold water. Bring to a boil, then simmer 10–15 minutes for a richer, warmer cup — great in colder months.
3. Tea Pairings
Chenpi + Pu-erh: the classic combo
Chenpi + white tea or black tea: mellow and soft
Chenpi + monk fruit or red dates: naturally sweet
4. Soups & Braises
Drop 1–2 small pieces into pork rib soup, duck soup, chicken broth, brisket stew, or red-braised dishes. It cuts greasiness and adds a complex citrus depth.
5. Chinese Desserts
Use in red bean soup, pear syrup, lotus seed sweet soup, or steamed pear — soak soft, slice thin, and simmer with the other ingredients.
6. Braising & Sauces
Add a small piece to lu shui (master stock), soy-braised eggs, or roasted poultry for a refined citrus finish.
