葉多摺成半圓形或扇形，展開後類圓盾形，直徑20~50 cm，全緣或稍成波狀。上表面深綠色或黃綠色，較粗糙；下表面淡灰棕色，較光滑，有粗脈21~22條，自中心向四周射出，中心有突起的葉柄殘基。質脆，易破碎。微有清香氣，味微苦。
心經；肝經；脾經；膽經；肺經
清熱解暑，升發清陽，涼血止血。用於暑熱煩渴，暑濕泄瀉，脾虛泄瀉，眩暈，血熱吐衄，便血，崩漏。荷葉炭收澀化瘀止血。用於多種出血症及產後血暈。
1.山楂決明荷葉湯
山楂、決明子各15g，荷葉半張。山楂切片，荷葉切絲，與決明子加水共煎。取汁代茶飲。
適用於冠心病、高血壓、高血脂、肥胖症等。決明子能抑制血清膽固醇的升高，抑制主動脈粥樣硬化斑塊的形成，其水浸液具有降壓作用。荷葉有止渴、散瘀血、助脾胃、消水腫等功效，與山楂合用，可祛脂降壓，減肥健身，為高血壓之頭暈目眩等症之藥膳良方。
2.荷花粥
鮮荷葉一張，大米60克。用大米煮粥，待熟時，將荷葉洗淨蓋在粥上，用文火燜少許荷葉變淡綠色即可。一日服2次，溫熱服。
能清暑、散淤血，減肥，寧心益氣。
3.藿香扁豆飲
鮮藿香(廣藿香)30克，鮮荷葉30克，鮮扁豆(白扁豆)汁30克。將上3味藥用開水浸泡，代茶頻飲。
清暑熱，爽神志。主治中暑或因暑熱引起的惡心嘔吐。

Lotus leaves and root extracts have long been used in traditional Chinese medicine to help regulate the menstrual cycle and stop excess bleeding. There isn’t a lot of scientific research to back these claims. Some practitioners suggest that drinking lotus root juice or lotus soup can help you avoid anemia after menstruation by building blood to replace what was lost.

The leaves are mostly folded into a semicircle or fan shape and are like a round shield when unfolded, with a diameter of 20-50 cm, and the entire edge or slightly wavy. The upper surface is dark green or yellow-green and rough; the lower surface is light gray-brown and smooth, with 21-22 thick veins, which shoot out from the center to the surroundings, and there are protruding petiole residues in the center. Crisp and easily broken.
It has a slight fragrance and a slightly bitter taste. It enters the Heart, Liver, Spleen, Gallbladder, and Lung meridians.
Indications: To clear away heat, to clear yang, cool blood to stop bleeding. Used for heat polydipsia, heat dampness diarrhea, spleen deficiency diarrhea, dizziness, blood-heat vomiting, bloody stool, uterine bleeding. The lotus leaf charcoal collects astringent, removes blood stasis, and stops bleeding. Used for a variety of hemorrhages and postpartum halos.
Dosage: Oral administration: decoction, 3~10g (fresh product 15~30g)
External use: appropriate amount, pound or decocted to wash.

Ingredients:
Hawthorn and cassia seed 15g each, half-piece of a lotus leaf
Slice the hawthorn, shred the lotus leaf, and boil together with cassia seeds.
Take the juice and drink it as tea.

Suitable for coronary heart disease, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, obesity, etc. Cassia seed can inhibit the increase of serum cholesterol, inhibit the formation of aortic atherosclerotic plaque, and its water extract has a hypotensive effect. The lotus leaf has the effects of quenching thirst, dispelling blood stasis, helping the spleen and stomach, and reducing edema. It can be used in combination with hawthorn to remove fat and reduce blood pressure, lose weight, and fitness.
Ingredients:
One fresh lotus leaf and 60 grams of rice. Use rice to cook the porridge.

30 grams of fresh Huo Xiang (Patchouli), 30 grams of fresh lotus leaves, 30 grams of fresh lentil (white lentil) juice. Soak those 3 ingredients in boiling water and drink frequently instead of tea.
