Dried tangerine peel is warm in nature, bitter and pungent in taste, and enters the lung and spleen meridians. Its core functions are to regulate qi, strengthen the spleen, dry dampness and transform phlegm: it can effectively regulate qi stagnation in the spleen and stomach, relieve distension and fullness in the epigastrium and abdomen, poor appetite, vomiting and diarrhea, and indigestion. At the same time, it dries and transforms cold, dampness, phlegm and turbidity, treating cough caused by damp phlegm and cold phlegm, with symptoms such as excessive white and thin phlegm and chest tightness. It is widely used in dietary therapy (such as soaking in water or making soup) and traditional Chinese medicine prescriptions, but it should be used with caution in those with Yin deficiency and dry cough or internal real heat.
