When I bought it, I saw the word "rose" and assumed it had the same filling as the flower mooncakes, a rose flower mooncake. Since I love flower mooncakes, I bought this Daoxiangcun one without hesitation. However, I was mistaken. This rose mooncake wasn't the Yunnan flower mooncake I'd imagined, but rather had a filling similar to a Beijing-style rose mooncake. You can clearly see some green and red threads when you cut it open, a typical Beijing-style filling. The flavor is a bit like five-nut, but I think it's a bit better. The pastry is the same crispy texture as the other flavors. Remember to hold onto the plate when eating, otherwise it's hard to clean up if it falls on the floor. See how I prepared two plates to hold the pastry, so it's foolproof, right? Haha, actually, it's just a prop for the photoshoot 😄, one plate per person. This is still in stock, and Mid-Autumn Festival is tomorrow, so you can stock up and enjoy it for breakfast afterward. The individually wrapped, 5-piece box is easy to carry.
